So, I won NaNo. Progress on NCT for thirty days straight. One day my progress was hardly progress (hardly anything), but what the heck, I'm counting it.

And the progress actually helped! The last couple of days I listed out and numbered all the scenes I'm going to need (because the day before, I decided I'd write it in scenes rather than trying to make it one big huge epic. So, something closer to "Sam I Am", rather than what it was probably gonna end up like ("Motivations" [three chapters that ended up as one short one] or "Tracks" [still not finished], neither of which are happy endings). This means it's going to be a lot shorter than it really deserves, but hopefully that at least it'll get finished, because I've already written more parts of it than I thought I had. :)

Besides NCT, I've written a mostly-terrible MTF!Neal fic that I intend to rewrite at some point. Then of course there's that one's related RPF bunny that I hope to write as well. And besides all that, new Samverse is coming! I was inspired this morning, and it turned out crappily, but I've rewritten crap in that 'verse before and had it turn out all right, so we shall see.

Yay for winning! Congratulations. And yay for being productive this month, not just with NCT, but also the MTF!Neal fic, too. Even with the prospect of revision ahead, getting this done is such a lovely feeling.

I like your icon, too. ^__^

NaNo was so different for me this year. I started off with this high expectation, and I think I made it more 'work' than it should have been. I'm actually not sorry at all that I lost, which is also weird for me.

The previous years, I was much like you were above; getting to 50k was the easy part, by and large, it was getting to the rest of the story that caught me up.

Yay for friending; be warned that I can occasionally get spammy. I don't think there's evidence of it yet, but it's been known to happen. :D

Trinity is getting kinkier every day. Apparently I have a thing for Dean basically being willing to do *anything* Jaimie and/or Carter ask him to do in bed (as well as one for him going down and enjoying it).

I've never even tried to do NaNo--mostly because SR's the longest thing I've *ever* written and it's a) only about 15,000-something words and b) took about six weeks to write.

Also, zerawolfe7's reaction to SitD (that the show pretty much ships Dean/Carter even if *she's* not too sure about it) amused me.

And going scenewise for a big huge fic often works better, at least for me. Unexpected is basically a collection of linked ficlets/scenes except for the snapshot epilogue, and SR kind of is too only without the epilogue (and it was definitely *written* scenewise).

The trans!Neal fic bits of Neal and Elizabeth friendship you mentioned earlier sound like they'll work well given revision (because them being BFFs, whether or not they're 2/3 of an OT3, is really cool and pretty IC). I'm a little surprised you went MTF, because Neal's pretty enough to have started out as a girl parts-wise imo.
