So, last Friday, grades came out. I got a B in Discrete, an A in Speech and Linear, and an N in Java II. The N, I found out today, was due to the administration not finding my prof's grade sheets when he turned them in. So we ought to hear our grades early next week. If I don't, y'know, have a heart attack before then.

My roommate left for Geology Camp in Colorado on Saturday, which couldn't have happened too soon for my tastes. Yay for living alone. It almost makes the awkward bathroom stuff bearable.

TV-wise, I caught up on Harper's last week. (Darn it, I liked #7! And it was funny to watch the "Interviews with the Dead" on TVC and see how far "how I want my character to die" is from "how it actually happened". Poor #7, lol. (Oh, and have an interview link.) And was it just me, or did Mal *IMDbs* Apparently not just me. The guy who plays Mal was the same guy who played Roland (ETA: Ronald; am I dyslexic or what?) in SN. For once I actually recognized someone!)

Also caught up on LTM (that was so not surprise, actor, not at all, but otherwise a good ep) and watched the season finale of CM (HOLY CRAP. ON SO MANY LEVELS. THAT IS ALL.) And the series premiere of Mental was on Tuesday, and it was really good. Yay for having something to watch over the summer once Harper's wraps.

Oh, and speaking of LTM, I'm writing my Communication Theory essay about Interpersonal Deception Theory and the portrayal of Ekman's work on LTM with respect to IDT. It's going to be fun. :) After that is the speech assignment, which I think I'm going to do on NaNo, even though we did audience analysis today and apparently no one cares. The prof assured us that "low knowledge, low importance, low interest" was okay, since if you're doing an informative speech the idea is to increase interest and make them care. So that'll be my goal.

Speaking of the audience analysis, we had to put our sex on everyone's paper for statistical purposes, and I asked, and apparently she actually meant sex and not gender. (Actually, her reply to my "Sex or gender?" was "Biological", which of course is even more vague than sex vs. gender, given hormones and such.) Really, how is what's in anyone's pants relevant or anyone else's business? But whatever, I put the stupid F on everyone's papers, and no one was a jackass about it except the prof. Because, seriously, after we were finished, she wanted to get demographics, and so she asked all the guys in the class to put their hands up. So there's everyone around me with their hands up (because our half of the class had unconsciously segregated our circle on gender lines), and me sitting there with my hands in my lap and I'm pretty sure this "fuck you" look on my face, trying to act like I'm not paying attention, wondering why in the hell she couldn't just use her damn eyes. For god's sake. I thought her hollering out our legal names during roll call on the first day instead of getting our preferred names off D2L was bad. This was just. Geez. I liked her, too. Ffs. D:

In other news, gotta finally admit I kind of might be crushing pretty hard on Kid-in-my-class-who-looks-like-Sam-from- Flashpoint-but-whose-name-is-Ben. Not only does he look like Sam from Flashpoint (and I mean, come on, you can't deny the pretty), but he was one of exactly two people in my entire half of the class (13 people plus me) who actually expressed interest in my speech topic. (It was anonymous, of course, I only know because I was sitting next to him -- which, I should mention, was a coincidence -- so he was the last person with my paper.) So yeah. <3

Finally, I've been writing quite a bit of FP fic recently for the newest w_g board (60). It's all FP transfic, and I'll post it here when I'm officially done (i.e., when I switch fandoms over there), just so I can make sure all the sequels and so on are organized properly. So keep an eye out for that if you're interested. It's been a lot of fun, I can tell you.

ETA: Further update: Grades are up. I made a C in Java II. I calculated every possible GPA and several impossible ones, and apparently the only way I could make a 3.25 is if I got an A in Comm (which I will), an A in Dynamics (which is possible), and an A in 13 more hours worth of classes (which I can't even possibly take that many classes). So, yeah, that sucks. ): *sigh*

Heart attacks are generally bad. I don't think anyone says "I had a heart attack of joy!"

Just remember, Justin, get precious revenge! Do not allow this slight to go unpunished. Destroy Oklahoma! That'll fix things. ;-)
