Update from Home

So, I got home last night. Got a ride with Alicia, and it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Then I get home and my parents are really, honestly trying with the name and pronouns. And today I got a haircut and took my checks to the bank and found out I made over $1300 working this semester. All in all, the break's been pretty sweet so far.
Note to self, though: I am a scrawny sonofagun. Therefore, my wrist is not the best benchmark on what makes a bracelet "big" or "small". My sister's fit her, at least (and she didn't think it sucked that bad!); hopefully Caitlin's fits her, or I'll just have to trade Sarah the little one for the big one and keep the little one. *shrug*
Oh, and Mom repainted and reorganized my room while I was gone (yes, she warned me first). It's finally not that faded purple color anymore!
In other news, I watched my last ep of QL today ("Roberto!"; liked it more than I expected to), so I'm downloading more now. Running out of space, though. D:
Also watched the Being Human pilot. It was really good; I'm so disappointed they're recasting Mitchell. Glad to hear they're changing the vampire mythos, but did Guy Flanagan really have to go with it? He made an amazing vampire. Sigh. I hope the next guy can fill those shoes.
Finally, NaNo:
Day 24: 148, written for writing_game ("see you under the fireworks"/"empty dialogue"), but it didn't turn out that great and I have no plans to post it.
Day 25: 140. 102 in another try at that table in writing game, prompts "doesn't smile much anymore"/"one-sided sympathy". Drabble called "Christmas in June" that I'm pretty sure sucks, but I'll try and fix it up and get it posted. The other 38 was the beginning of a Twilight Zone-focused QL fic. Wrote it all during PMath too, which was definitely a more effective use of my time than trying to make sense of my professor, lol.
Day 26: 242, but I officially counted it as 171 because 71 words of the 242 was directly taken from the closing narration of the Twilight Zone episode that I used in the aforementioned fic. Unfortunately, said fic was much better in theory than in execution, but I'll see what I can do to change that, too.
At least I've kept up on my goal so far. Four more days!
