Thewriting_game bug bit again. Never can predict my muses. Day 9 word count so far: 131. The 125-word version of this is over at the Week 52 w_g board; here's the trimmed-to-drabble-size, 100-word version. Set in the same universe as, and at some point after, "One for the Angels", but they're not really otherwise related. (And the monster "word" with seven hyphens has been cut, because that just felt like cheating. My writing integrity remains more or less intact.)
One thing Sam knew about leaping – one of the only things he was ever sure about – was there was always something new to end up doing.
He’d certainly never helped dig up a grave before. That was new.
But as he watched Dean Winchester’s brother pour salt and gasoline on the dead white bones in the grave, it became like every other leap – a job to do. The same mystery: Why was he here?
And he thought he knew.
Because looking into Sam Winchester’s eyes, it was obvious those bones weren’t the only things about to go up in flames.
