lonetreadWrote this drabble almost a month ago (6/12/08), finally decided to post it. It's in the Samverse, and set during 1x07, "Hook Man".

The Darndest Things
Sam looked up from his laptop to see a little kid staring at him curiously.
“Are you a boy or a girl?” the kid asked; he’d obviously heard the librarian using female pronouns.
“Well,” said Sam, “I’m a boy, but I was born with a girl body instead of a boy body, so people get confused a lot and think I’m a girl.”
The little boy made a face. “That stinks.”
Sam nodded, turning back to his research as the boy walked away – then stifling a laugh as the kid strode over to enlighten the librarian.
Yeah, kids were alright.
