It was exactly two years yesterday since I last posted in this thing. Dang.
So, I thought I'd update and maybe try to make this more...current. We'll see how well that works out, I guess.
For now, what's going on...:
For those who don't know, I'm genderqueer/trans-questioning/FTM/what-have-you. On Monday, I came out to my parents.
OK, actually, to say "I came out" gives me more credit than I deserve. What really happened is I'd been trying to all weekend and couldn't find the moment/words/guts. The only difference Monday was I gave Mom my credit card receipts, she noticed "Genderqueer" and "Finding the Real Me" on them, and she figured it out for, and brought it up, herself. My mom is awesome. :)
Anyway, it was kinda weird at first since 1) she didn't really get it, and 2) she'd been expecting me to come out as gay instead. Apparently my hints were a little off, lol. But, she told Dad for me, and after a bunch of questions at dinner, it's okay, and they're totally supportive of my seeking out gender therapy. So yay! *dance*
Also, re: transness -- any gender-variant who has a video camera and happens to be reading this, the trans community on YouTube needs you! A few transfolk are putting together a video and want the vidding community to be a part of it. For the info, go here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=XSFyPE4VqqI I'd make a vid for them, except that I don't have a camera. Pity.
In other news, Caitlin's coming over today. We're going swimming in the bathwater-temperature pool. (Stupid Texas weather.)
And I will do my best to update this as semi-regularly as I can manage. 9_9
ETA: I've changed my mind and set this to public. It's a waste of words as a private entry, epecially as that trans-community video information is somewhat time-sensitive, so I'll just let my RL friends find this and let the chips fall where they may in regards to my identity and the fact that this is probably the first they'll hear about it. If it has to happen, it has to happen. *shrug*
