So. I was actually getting writing done on SP this morning, amazingly enough. And then I went and got on Facebook. And what do I see in my newsfeed but my I-thought friend, let's call him E,'s status update.

"if you fall for a tranny does that make you gay/lesbian or straight still? I.e man likes a now female tranny. Lol"

Mhmm. There followed several comments that don't warrant posting here because I'll just get angrier at the ignorance of humanity (if anyone so much as says "chromosomes" one more time, I am going to feed them their eyes). Anyway, then someone asks, ". . .odd question. . .why do you need this answer? lol". And the whole thing gets even worse.

E's response: "Ok, it was based on my friend getting hit on by a tranny and he said she (actually a he) was decently attractive. So I asked him, if you went out of your way and did something with her, would that make you gay? he said it was interesting to think about so i put it online."

That was followed by this exchange:

Person I don't know, repeating herself: "Once again [E] WTF????"
Me: "Seconding the WTF. I really didn't need to get this angry so early in the day. D:"
E: All I have to say is i am loving how people are doing nothing but looking at the negative to this. People flipping out and getting offended instead of thinking, gee...if I was transexual but was actually making someone of what used to be the same sex like me, maybe im doing a good job, maybe somethings working. Instead they do nothing but focus on the negative and get mad.
E: seriously people...quit looking at the negative and grow up. your life will be a lot less stressful.
E: and for those making a big stink about it...please tell me how it is not a valid question. :P

WTF. I JUST DON'T EVEN. DDDDD: MY RAGE, LET ME SHOW YOU IT. And E is a gay man! You'd think, of all people, he'd be able to not be an asshat. APPARENTLY FUCKING NOT.

So I raged and raged and raged, and then responded with this (as politely as I could manage while still internally boiling over):

"People flipping out and getting offended instead of thinking, gee...if I was transexual". I don't have to think that, I *am*. And this was *extremely* offensive. Please, think about what you say before you say it; if people are offended, that's on *you*, not us.

"for those making a big stink about it...please tell me how it is not a valid question." Because. it's. offensive. If you'd like me to explain why, I can do that. If you'd just like me to defriend you, I will happily do that. Otherwise, please just stop digging yourself into a bigger hole, own up to your goddamn privilege, and stop waving your ignorance around everywhere. Jhc.

He hasn't replied yet. Hopefully I will have calmed by the time he does.

But yes. Thanks a lot, E, you bigoted fucker. Now I can't write anymore SP because I am far too busy RAGING AT YOU. D: Well-done.

ETA: And I just watched the Seeker series finale. Which was great, but. Series finale! ): I can has happy things, plz?!

Because that's why people transition, right? To get people of their birth sex? I must be doing it wrong, since I'm mostly attracted to women, then. :-P
