Backwards, because if I think about Numb3rs much more tonight, I really am going to cry.

Because, seriously. Oh my god, show. I was choking up just reading the spoilers earlier, and now? I literally jogged back to my room in case I had to start crying. What a terrific -- I don't want to say "series finale", because I don't want it to go, not when I feel like I just started watching it again, but yeah, that was definitely a send-off and it was a damn good one. But jeez, what a tear-jerker. D: (Also, whatever Snow Patrol that was at the end? I want it.)

Before that was Medium, which I hadn't watched in years until last week. Saw a preview for last week's and had to watch it -- and it was fantastic. Lee at the very end, all, "We couldn't get there in time to save him". I stared at the screen for a second and then thought about it and just... boggled, at the idea that Lee was knowingly allowing his own (rapist) brother to be brutally murdered, and that it seemed perfectly IC. Amazing, amazing episode.

Come to think, I had a similar reaction to this week's ending. It was a backstory ep, watching Allison and Joe's almost-not wedding, which was great by itself, but the very end was what clinched the whole thing for me. At the beginning, we see Bridget looking at a picture, asking about the wedding, and we find out that Allison isn't there, hasn't been for ages. Then past!Allison wakes up -- that was a dream about the future. During the course of the episode, there is a present kidnapping/murder, and the future kidnapping/murder of one of Allison's kids. And at the end, after the kidnapper gets arrested, we're back in the present, watching Bridget look the wedding picture, and there's Allison this time. And it was nice and all, but it really socked me in the gut about two seconds after that ("oh, snap!") when I realized that we knew where Allison had been, before the future had changed -- out looking for the dead daughter. That hurt, show, but was wonderfully executed, and I'm pleased they didn't make some grand mention of it and instead let us figure it out for ourselves (apparently on our own time, too, because that is how I roll). And speaking of the execution of that ep, the backstory format worked surprisingly well, too, I thought. Well done, Medium folks.

And on that note: THE WHITE COLLAR FINALE, YOU GUYS. JESUS H CHRIST. I ran back to my room after that one too, to get on AIM and capslock about it, only to find that Zera hadn't watched it yet. Happily, I was reduced to incoherency for several minutes anyway, unable to get out anything other than squeaks and yells and "ohmygod"s even if I'd wanted to. I just... that was on the level of the Dexter s4 finale, you guys. It really, really was. I don't know how they plan to top it, but dear god I cannot wait for it to come back. I CAN HAS SUMMAR NAO PLZ? (Also, some speculations that I found interesting and agreeable. For one, I had had the thought even before that post that Fowler hadn't known about the bomb, and I'm glad to see I'm not alone in that. I hate him as much as anybody, but I'm not feeling that idea. *shrug* Explain, writers!)

And before that was Castle, which, well. I'd been kind of dreading it since hearing about the topic, after the mess that was CSI's furry ep and the bits I saw of a BDSM one recently during commercials for something else, but I apparently should give the writers more credit: that, at the worst, could have been a lot worse. At first, I was annoyed they'd gone the "dominatrix" route, but by the end I was even grateful for that. It would definitely cut the risk of offending people, I'd think. Which was something CSI, from what I saw, was not all that concerned about. (In either case, for that matter.) And then the Castle writers even managed to not have the killer be a kinkster. Color me impressed, guys. Keep up the good work. (Also, serious lulz in that ep, too. "She wrote that down?!" I about died laughing. And all that innuendo with Beckett has pretty much cemented the existence of an actual, active kink meme in this fandom. Anyone find one, you'll let me know?)

By the way, I'll be making the kink tag public when relevant now since my parents no longer read my LJ, but the friendsgroup is still in action, fwiw, if a bit slow lately.

Anyway, before Castle were the BN finale (hooray for Garret Dillahunt continuing his streak of making an awesome villain in everything I watch), and WC's "Front Man", which: we can has some hurt/comfort already, you guys? Please? Hello, there was kidnapping, and tasering, and angst, and threats, and at least one scene that caused immediate BN flashbacks -- and no H/C? Come on, writers. Get with it. On the other hand, somehow still awesome. Best scene? Neal-as-Nick, of course. What other choice is there? So angsty and awesome. A+.

Oh, and there was Human Target on Wednesday, too, that I watched, that was as crazy-actiony-awesome as usual (and hey, there should be a BN crossover with that, that would work well. someone get on that!).

And that's it for the relatively recent TV. The Psych finale is conspicuously absent, I know; I'll be watching that rerun tomorrow.

In other news, went to the gender-neutral housing teach-in thing last week. It was interesting. Still have to send the Housing guy an email expanding on my question for him, though -- gotta figure out what the protocol is with the legal gender change and stuff. Apparently Dallas County is doing them without surgery now! Go Dallas! Still hoping to have surgery this summer so I won't have to really worry about having legal gender and surgery status not match up, but it's still a good thing to know (especially since I haven't really moved forward yet on it >_<).

I also had a quiz today that was... unpleasant, and I have my first midterm the Monday night after the break. Yeah. Un-fun. But what can ya do. Besides that, this semester still isn't terribly bad yet.

Oh, and a couple of weeks ago, Roy Zimmerman came to Norman. It was good times. He sang the songs I wanted him to sing ("Creation Science 101", "Limbaugh") and a couple songs I didn't know I wanted until he sang them ("Dick Cheney") and during the intermission he came over (he and his wife know me from YouTube) and we chatted. It was fantastic. And then I didn't have to walk all the back in the cold because some random fans gave me a ride back to the Union, which was nice. The only thing that sucked was that I'd just gotten a new haircut the day before, and as nice as those folks are, they always mess up my hair -- so this old guy next to me "she"d me to his wife, and that might as well have been a bucket of cold water. Sigh. At least my stupid hair's grown out, now. I am finding myself a goddamned barber shop or something next time, I swear. D:

Last but not least, I saw this hilarious WC vid to "Skullcrusher Mountain", and in so doing was introduced to Jonathan Coulton. Check him out, he's hilarious, and the songs on that page are free to stream in full. My faves are "Re: Your Brains", "Skullcrusher Mountain", "Code Monkey", and most of the others that I've listened to, but to list them all would rather defeat the purpose of favorites. ;) Enjoy.
