I just realized I hadn't updated you guys on the trans stuff in a while, so since I have homework to be doing, that seemed like the perfect time. ;D (Speaking of, anyone more proficient at Excel than I am want to help make heads or tails of this Taylor Series Expansion assignment?)
Anyway, a day or two before I filled my script, my dad and I had this conversation about my transition and everything. I asked him the whole "well, wouldn't you if you were born in a girl body?" thing, but since he's straight he couldn't figure out why a gay guy would transition. Basically said I wasn't manly enough for it to make sense for him. He couldn't grasp it, but he did keep saying that "if it's about being more comfortable" then he could understand and be okay with that. I assured him it was, and after that he got loads better with name/pronouns/etc. Even during that conversation, he was using my name as a synonym for my transition and my male identity (as in, "This isn't about Justin"), but he's gotten so much better now. Calls me my sister's brother, cracks jokes like eating all his Nutter Butters wasn't "what a good son would do" (hey, I was probably sparing him some saturated fat or something, om nom nom), that kind of thing. My mom's been really great from the start, but now the both of them are pretty fantastic. (Heh, when my sister and I were finishing filling out the FAFSA, Mom screwed up and corrected herself ["Ladies... and gentlemen". :)].)
My favorite story with my dad, I think, is when we were playing Chauvinist Pigs against my mom and sister, and one of the girl questions that we had to answer was when you usually start potty-training a kid. I look at him all "o_O Two?" and he's like "*lulz* You make such a good guy." (And yeah, we lost, but was damn close, and it would have been even closer if the game hadn't cleaned up SNAFU as "Situation Normal: All Fouled Up". Come on, it's the military, you know that wasn't the original phrase. The game lies!)
Oh, and by the way, I just lost the Game. Thought you ought to know. ;-P
Anyway, back on topic, as far as T is concerned, I've been on two packets a day now since Friday. Still no noticeable changes. You'll be hearing about it when there are.
