DDDDDDDDDDDDDDD:
Here's how my morning's been.
We had our 1311 lab practical today, or so I thought. I couldn't remember what time I'd signed up for, so I showed up at the normal time (9:00), walked in, and looked at the sign-up sheet. 10:10. Glancing up, I saw lots of people there, but didn't think anything of it, just left, planning to come back at 10:10.
I went to the library and worked on the lab that's due for that class tomorrow, from last week. At 10:09ish I bolted back over (figuratively running into Alicia on the way).... only to discover that the door was locked and the light was off.
A whole lot of colorful swear words later, I realized our practical is NEXT week, we had had a lab, and I had just missed it. Worse, we're allowed to miss one lab without penalty -- but I used that up last week because I didn't understand how to get from the data we had to the values we needed, and so couldn't do any of the lab. And it says in big bold letters in the syllabus that we aren't allowed to turn in a lab we weren't present for, so even if I emailed my lab partner and got the data, they still probably wouldn't let me turn it in (although I did email the TA and ask).
So, most probably, I've just earned myself a zero, and the twelve total labs make up 70% of our grade.
WHY do I have to fail at life so hard?! D: Seriously. This was supposed to be the easy lab, too.
The only upsides? 1) I didn't miss the practical, and 2) I've only not done two labs; three absences (including the freebie; not sure if "being there but not turning it in" counts as an absence) means your grade's reduced by a letter.
ETA: As expected, I'm not allowed to turn in this week's lab, but she's showing mercy and accepting last week's at a 10% late penalty instead of 50%. Now I just have to figure out how to do it.
