Short version: Mostly a success (as much as can be determined at this point, anyway).
Long version:
I did find the two companies I'd looked at online beforehand (Aeroflex and Spirit Aerosystems), the former of which seemed interested in me; the latter, not so much, but hey. I tried to get in with Raytheon, but they won't touch you if your GPA is less than 3.0, so that was a no-go. I also managed to have a huge facepalm moment there; got another kid confused with a rep -- everybody's so dressed up you can't tell! >_< But whatever. I'll never see him again, anyway.
Oh, and speaking of that, I was one of maybe three male-presenting people who weren't wearing a tie. *shrug* At least I wasn't the only one.
And speaking of that, I was all over the map with those recruiters. I got everything from "sir" (from the nice lady with Wal-Mart) to "So you go by Justin?" (the guy at Raytheon; Raytheon likes to say how inclusive/diverse/whatever they are, but if that guy's any indication, I didn't want to work for them anyway. I mean, I'm wearing a freaking name tag -- when would that ever be an appropriate question?!).
Wal-Mart was great, too; I'd run out of resumes by that point, so the rep gave me her business card and said "Email it to me." :) Definitely going to.
And the other noteworthy thing that happened was that I ran into Blaine (the kid who sat next to me in Dynamics last semester, if you remember that story from Day of Silence). He took one look at my name tag and started apologizing profusely for calling me by my old name the day we ran into each other after Engr Prac (even after I told him not to worry about it, he hadn't known). Apparently, he'd taken the hint after he saw my name on the group lists for Engr Prac (we aren't in the same section, but all the sections were together in that document) and felt really bad. I was just happy to have one fewer acquaintance I could stop avoiding; I walked past two today (Tim and Erin, both mutual friends of Sam) without making eye contact because I hate dealing with people I'm friends-with-but-not-good-friends. Too awkward. But yes, God, Blaine is amazing. That kid could not be more awesome if science figured out a way to implant awesome into people.
Oh, and the PMath homework? The deadline got postponed till next Thursday so we could have it to study for the test. I win. :D
OK, that's all, I think. Gotta go to lab now, anyway.
