Fic: SN, "Under Cover of Night", for multi_ficathon

I've been waiting a couple days to write this, almost forgot about it, but here it is! I'm pretty pleased. Might cut it to drabble-size, might not; we'll see. Prompt was "The Things They Carried". That's one of my favorite books of all time, so I wrote this in tribute. Nothing you might recognize was intended as plagiarism.
