GLBTF was cool today; there was a presentation on GLBT history and queer theory and it was really interesting.

And then, after that, turned out my googling of gender-neutral housing that I had thought hadn't been very helpful turned out to be exactly that -- Shannon hadn't heard of the National Student Genderblind Campaign. I think their Resources page will be a really good place to start. Cross your fingers that we can get this off the ground, folks.

Also, have some linkage:
Preview of Supernatural 4x5 "Monster Movie". Myself, I'm with the commenter who mentioned "Post-Modern Prometheus": it reminds me of that episode, too, and not in a way where I'm going in with high expectations. PMP was good and all, but everyone treats it like an absolute great, classic episode, and I think MM'll be the same way -- everyone will kill themselves with praise but it won't actually have been all that terrific. I'm open to being proven wrong, though.
Judge throws out lawsuit against God because of lack of address. Wow. That's... yeah. "Chambers has said he filed the lawsuit to make the point that everyone should have access to the courts regardless of whether they are rich or poor." Seems to me there's less time-wasting ways to do that, but whatever floats your boat, I guess.

And finally,
Kids Pulled from Transgender Teacher's Class. Good ol' HIPAA. Always making things more complicated than necessary. Really, though, I can see both sides of this. I guess what probably should have happened is the teacher have notified the parents beforehand himself, since the school board couldn't. Because sure, he might want to try and maintain some privacy so as to be able to go stealth easier later, but really, there's "privacy" and then there's "transition" and there's not a whole lot of overlap that's even possible, IMO and IME, especially in circumstances like a school. (Yes, this from the guy who got around this by changing majors and gender presentation at the same time, but being a teacher is way different, I'm sure.) At any rate, at this point, I'm not sure what the parents expect the school to do -- and it's not like it was their fault, anyway. Thoughts/opinions?
