News on the fic front (mostly bad).

So, here's the latest on my epics:
I haven't worked on NCT in I-literally-don't-even-know-how-long. This is... not entirely a shock, given how epically gigantic it really ought to end up (intimidating like whoa, you guys!) and how much making notes has, in the past, had a tendency to ruin my enthusiasm for whatever it is I'm writing. Not to mention that those notes are, um, probably a good 30 Word documents now. Way back, before November aka NaNo, I was trying to concatenate my 10+ pages of notes in three documents into something coherent and shorter, and I more or less managed it, and then NaNo came. And now I have 30 documents and they're completely unorganized and basically incoherent or otherwise I would share just to prove how epic it would be if only I could get anything halfway decent written. Sigh. If anyone is still interested, it could maybe use some cheerleading. Me, I'd love to get it done before s2, but if I don't manage that, history says it's never going to get done (I mean, just look at my SN "Say Goodbye" vid. Yeeeeah, you can't, because that never happened, either. >_<). So yeah, like I said, cheerleading/encouragement/whatever, if you want to see it even remotely written.
And worse news: SP is clearly becoming the NCT of 2010. While it's.... only asymptotically approaching the sheer amount of notes NCT has (to translate from Nerd, that means getting closer and closer but will never quite reach it XD), it's still got a lot of the same deal going on. A whole tree's (or in NCT's case, forest's) worth of notes, and relatively zero actual fic. Which, on the good side, at least in this case the notes are still getting written -- hooray progress? -- buuut it looks like it's headed down the same horrible drowned-the-muses-in-notes path. And, worse, it was supposed to be ~500 words when I started it (series of five drabbles, same basic format as "War Stories"), and now it's looking like it's trying to be maybe a couple thousand on the original idea, plus a sequel, plus another sequel. (I haven't even written more than a paragraph of the original idea yet, and I'm getting bunnied for sequels, plural. Freaking ridiculous. What. The fuck. Muses. I had to go and read "A Mile Away and Wearing Your Shoes" [best title ever, by the way, and an awesome fic, to boot] and then go to sleep and dream about it [me, weird? why would you say that? ;)] and get all fucking inspired. Goddammit. FML.) So, yeah, in short: This in insane. I need to really start sticking to my general policy of "never write chaptered fics. especially not epics. no, seriously, don't." DDD: Or in other words: This one could use some cheerleading and maybe a sounding-board, too. I can't imagine a second sounding-board would hurt. :)
Sigh. My poor stories. I'm never doing this to myself again (he says, as his muses laugh hysterically and high-five in the background).
But in better news, I finished another Samverse drabble. (You see? Epics and I... really should just stay away from each other for good.) I'll spend Castle's timeslot picking out the best version and finding it a title, and have it posted shortly. So I can actually get something accomplished, at least. 9_9
