Fic: QL, "The Waiting Time"
Day 19 word count: 140 (the previous 6, plus 134 in this story, which I trimmed to 100).
Prompts: w_g character prompt,"quiet" (had to start on the first letter of the last fandom we wrote; don't think they expected anyone to start on Q!), and a quote I found on ThinkExist:
“But the waiting time, my brothers, is the hardest time of all.” ~ Sarah Doudney
The Waiting Time
Al left the waiting room with his head hanging a little lower than it had been. It always hurt to see Sam, so solid and here and not Sam. So he did what he always did. He went to the control room.
“Odds, Ziggy,” he said halfheartedly. Will this be the leap Sam comes home?
“Yes, Admiral,” Ziggy said, sounding sad herself.
Then, as always, she went quiet, and Al sighed and left for the Imaging Chamber.
If Sam couldn’t be home, Al would bring home to him.
One day, the odds would be better. Until then, Al could wait.
