"Well, I won't be sleeping tonight."
That^ was my immediate reaction to the first two minutes of "Baneling". And the end only made it worse -- holy crap, show. "Marked" was pretty good, but this was somehow even better.
I really should have seen the end coming a mile away (I have seen Identity, after all [the movie, not the episode]) but I didn't. And then just before we saw William's arms, the lightbulb went on. I'm sure I had pretty much the reaction they were shooting for -- yelling "Oh, shit! Fuck! No!" out loud, and then repeating over and over something to the effect of "oh holy crap oh my god holy shit" endlessly.
Yeeeah, definitely won't be sleeping for a while tonight.
And speaking of "holy shit": the preview for next week. I might die of anticipation first. Omg.
And finally, speaking of Cara, I love her more and more as the eps go by. I was a little worried that she wouldn't bring back Slimeball (what was his name? I was just calling him some variant of Slime/Slimeball/Sleaze the whole time.) -- that was my first thought. As in, she said, "He's dead," and I finished what should have been her line with, "I can fix that."
Even just considering lines she actually had, though, man she got all the best lines this ep. My faves:
"I'm sorry for your loss." I don't think this sentence has ever or will ever again make me laugh, and definitely not as hard as I did when she said it. Deadpan delivery for the win! XD
And also this exchange:
"I'm not going anywhere, and this hand goes where I go."
"Not if I cut it off."
"When do we leave?"
Was it just me who'd been thinking that the whole time? *evil grin*
Amazing how one episode can make me laugh out loud and cringe back in my seat with horror more than once in the space of an hour. I don't care what everyone else says about this show, it's awesome.
