Random things I haven't mentioned yet.
Had a project design due in Java 2 today. At least both my partner and I are the type to put that sort of thing off till Wednesday night, so we stayed up together on AIM until midnight till we got it done. *g* I'm going to try and do some work on it Saturday when I won't be doing anything else, just to avoid all that three-classes-worth-of-homework stress next Thursday. Then I'll watch Burn Notice and Psych. And probably Being Human. And it will be amazing.
Speaking of BH, SECOND SEASON HELL YES. :D My reactions to ep 5 are probably still not particularly coherent, so I'll just link you here instead. Suffice to say, that was one of the best episodes of anything ever and the BBC would have been stupid not to keep it going. (Tangentially related: Russell Tovey interview.) Also, check out the spoilers [press release; major spoilers] for ep 6! I am so excited!
Speaking of BN, "Bad Breaks" was made of awesome. Just saying. (I love bank robbery episodes. Of anything. No, I don't even know. *g*)
Relatedly, definitely looking forward to watching Psych, too. Looks like it was great.
And that Flashpoint I missed free chocolate for? So worth it. Oh my God. Sam. Jules. Sam. ;_;
Also, an update on Tin Man. (Or more accurately, a step backward, but hey.)
In other news, I've decided for certain that I'm dropping Numerical Methods (don't know what I made on the test yet, but I really don't have the time or energy to put into this class right now, and I don't want to risk my one last shot at my scholarship). So I went online to go drop it, and lo and behold you have to go do it at the Registration office in Buchanan. Guess I'll be doing that between classes tomorrow. And maybe show up after Numerical Methods gets out to find out my test grade, for curiosity's sake.
Oh, and I ran into this guy who comes to Quizno's a lot as I was going to eat dinner, so I ate with him and his friends. All was fine and dandy, and then I had to go bring up Exorcism of Emily Rose. One friend is apparently Pentecostal and has apparently seen a possessed person before. Not the kind of topic you generally bring up around total strangers you've just met and whose religious affiliations you don't know, but I rolled with it because he was courteous enough to acknowledge that by starting out prefacing his opinion of how awesome the movie was with "whether you believe in it or not". So all was well and then as we're all going to throw our trash away he says something about "that guy at the Oscars who was talking about how everyone hates gay people". And I'm thinking, Oh, boy, and I say, "Sean Penn?" And he says "Yeah!" and I figure I can maybe see his point that maybe Sean Penn was overgeneralizing some, sure, but he keeps going. Says something along the lines of "Just because we have values doesn't mean we hate gay people." Excuse me? I couldn't hear you through all that fail. My very stealth self happily got the heck out of there not long after.
Anyway, at least I had a delicious, delicious sandwich. And now I have 11H to go watch. :)
But first, a few last things:
lgbtfest is back again! :D
Tulsa airport starts screening with full body scanners ):
Man Saves Three, Gets Jaywalking Ticket ...
Rush Limbaugh Trying to Woo Women XD
Slate article about Ask MetaFilter. Read the link about the guy and the German address. Just...wow.
And a couple other things I'll add when 11H isn't about to come on. Including, say, tags. And a subject. *runs off*
ETA: Okay. 11H was really good. Creepy good, but good. What I had left to say was a few things from GLBTF:
1. On the ballot for the upcoming (3/31-4/1) UOSA elections will be a referendum on adding sexual orientation to OU's nondescrim policy. They're trying to get gender ID/presentation added, too.
2. Westboro is protesting at Moore HS on Monday. I think there's gonna be a counter-protest.
3. We're gonna play Assassins. XD
4. The H&F director is going to come to GLBTF at some point in the future to present on gender-blind housing. Wish I could be there.
5. "Don't miss the Planned Parenthood Transgender Services luncheon on Monday, March 2, 12-1 in the Frontier Room of the Union." Totally going to be there, at least, since I won't have class then anymore. :)
ETA 2: Oh, and Barnes & Noble was having a sale on "paperback favorites", and they included a lot of Gaiman, so I had to get hooked up. And now my books are here! I got Stardust, American Gods, and a short story collection by Joe Hill called 20th Century Ghosts. I read another story in the last one already, and um wow. Yeah. Greatness. :DDD <3
