 1. I finished all my SW homework. I haven't yet attempted to run any of it, so I have no idea how much, if any, of it actually works, but just having something that looked plausible was my goal. Goal: achieved.

2. Skateboarder Snatches Quran, Prevents Burning. "He said something about burning the Quran. I said, 'Dude, you have no Quran,' and ran off." Rock on, man. Rock the heck on.

So much homework, dear sweet baby Jesus so much homework, but I'm not suicidal anymore. (It occurred to me that the fact that my hormone levels were bottoming out last night probably didn't help matters, then, either.) Off to go do some of that homework now. With friends, so it's actually going to get done!

But first, news! The judge signed my order today! From the record on the Internet: "ORDER TO CORRECT GENDER DESIGNATION SIGNED 9-13-2010." Yay! XD I assume they'll probably be sending me a copy in the mail.

Other things I'm going to be getting in the mail: Dexter in the Dark, She's Not There, and SN s5. And Sam finally returned my Seeker s1 to me today (and I forgot it at work, haha). :)

So excited for Thursday. I've never been this excited for Career Fair before. It's amazing what nice clothes can do. It's like magic.

Oh, and it seems like every religious organization on campus set up a table next to the sidewalk between Walker and Couch today. It was like a religion gauntlet. "Have you heard of Paradigm?! :DDD" YES OMG IT'S MY FIFTH YEAR, I WOULD HAVE TO BE DEAF, BLIND, AND DEAD NOT TO HAVE HEARD OF PARADIGM. Still not interested, kthx. >_< Thankfully, I survived. I'll have to find a new way out of the building if they're there regularly. I'm not entirely sure they appreciated my presence anyway. "Are you interested?!" "No." "...Well, at least he's honest." Sorry, you guys, there's just only so many of you I can be polite to at once, especially when I'm having a week like this. Try again one at a time and I'd be happy to deliver your flyer to the recycle bin for you.

1. As you can see, I have finally updated my 15. That's been a really long time coming (...understatement), so you should go check them out. As always, if you know who made any of the ones that lack proper credit, let me know.

2. I bothered [livejournal.com profile] clex_monkie89 and [livejournal.com profile] sashataakheru on AIM last night and think I finally have a suitable plot for the WC bodyswap fic. Which is good, because it's extraordinarily appropriate for my first prompt on [livejournal.com profile] writing_game this board, "extenuating circumstances", but I couldn't write that until I'd worked out several large promblems (like not knowing what caused the bodyswap). So, I can write now!

2b. Except that I have loads of homework. Argh. I hope I'll find that sufficient motivation to actually get some homework done.

3. Unfortunately, the WH13 fic is not going so well. Sigh. But at least I'm not on a clock for that one.

4. Speaking of fic with deadlines, oh god the SN/QL. *headdesk* OP of that prompt, if you're reading this, I AM SO SORRY. D: I will finish that fic. One day. Hopefully soon. I will. Honest. DDD:

5. I watched the Psych finale yesterday  morning. <3333 Now all I've got left to catch up on are Dark Blue and Happy Town. (And while I'm on the subject of TV, how disappointed am I that Lone Star and The Event are in the same timeslot? VERY. I mean, obviously, Event is going to have to take precedence, but still. It saddens me.)

6. I went back to TO and the Werelist for the first time in about five years today (technically, I'd been back at TO a couple years ago to update my gender on my profile, but I didn't stay long). Actually remembered my passwords, even. My Werelist account had been deleted, but I made a new one. Hadn't realized how much I missed all those guys. It's good to be back.

7. Saw Toy Story 3 for free at Meacham on Friday night. Such a happy-making movie. \o/ :DDD *love*

Now, time for lunch, then homework, then fic. *nodnod* We'll see how well that works out.

\o/

1. Dexter is Delicious came out the other day. I wish I'd known sooner, I'd have preordered it! Oh, well, I fixed that. It'll be coming soon. :)

2. MAINTENANCE RANDOMLY CAME AND FIXED MY A/C. IT IS NOT ARCTIC!COLD IN MY ROOM ANYMORE. Warranted caps are warranted. Several times, I've made soup or popcorn mostly to keep warm, that's how bad it's been. (I'd have contacted Maintenance myself, but I thought I just couldn't work the thermostat. I'm still not sure I can work the thermostat, but IT'S NOT COLD ANYMORE YAY.)

3. Holy shit WC finale. I don't even. *flails*

4a. Well on my way to figuring out the perfect set of fictional cursed artifacts to use in my WC SP bodyswap sequel. Sasha or anyone else who has knowledge of ancient Egypt, want to recommend me a good pharaoh? Or "things you might find in a pyramid"? Or just hear the ideas I'm working with so far and make sure they make sense (in a "there are no polar bears in the Antarctic" kind of way)?

4b. Also made progress related to the artifact for my WH13 transfic. I was all set to have to give up and use the same or a similar artifact for both of these, but this turned out to work out better if it's not even Egyptian (unfortunately; I have a pharaoh all picked out if that changes!), so I guess that's good. (Although I still keep confusing this and the above. *sadface* That's what I get for plotting more than one fic with a similar plot device at a time.) I just have to figure out whose it was and what, exactly, it is. And I know that doesn't sound like a whole lot of progress, but you'll have to trust me that it is. ;)

5. In less happy news, I have so much homework. It is going to be horrible. D: Sigh. (I already had to miss the Psych finale, the Terriers premiere, and two hours of Dark Blue yesterday just for one class worth of homework and because I couldn't find an open TV. And these are projects. School, gtfo my life plz. I've had enough of you.)

ETA: Check out my 80 points worth of WC fic over at writing_game. I do believe that's a new personal best. By over ten points. *bows*

"I hacked history!" has got to be one of Leverage's best lines ever. XD

In other news, I hope this board at [livejournal.com profile] writing_game goes on forever and ever (read: I'd at least like a warning before it closes, kplzthx). My epic plan, it is epic. I ended up switching some prompts around, and not writing Monsters fic for the one I'd planned to, but I'm still having bunnies, so yay. (I would have written more today, but I made the mistake of reading a very intense collarkink fill this afternoon that really stuck with me and ruined me for all my stories until a few minutes ago.)

Now, fic-wise:

1. The MTF!Neal verse-thing (lol idek what it is) unexpectedly grew something approaching a plot tonight while I wasn't paying attention. Not sure whether this is good or bad. I think I'd trade that in to just know her name, but what can ya do. (Besides, I'm hardly one to talk -- I didn't know my own for a solid few months post-social-transition. But then, that annoyed me too, so at least I'm being consistent?)

2. Monsters-verse has developed the levels of angst probably everyone but me saw coming. (Although, really -- even the dog is angsty?! That's just wrong. My head is a scary place sometimes, I tell ya.) Now I need to just, y'know, actually write it down. *nodnod*

2b. Spoilers for my fic 'He Who Fights Monsters'. )

3. If "dialogue-only WC zombie apocafic" sounds like something you'd enjoy, you should know I posted just such a drabble yesterday at writing_game. Turns out it worked better for that prompt than Monsters did. And it makes me laugh. XD

TV stuffs (WH13, Happy Town). )

There's longer posts I've been meaning to make, but instead, I'll make this short one.

Small things (school, Fair loot, Day Break). )
  • Biggest news: I have to go to court after all. My buddy Mr. Guy must have been mistaken. ): Shirl, the woman from the court who told me so, first gave me the option of 9/1. A Wednesday. I'm thinking "holy heck, if they make me go down on a Wednesday again...". And then she suggests 9/3 (Friday, two weeks from today). So alright then, Shirl. The third it is. At least it's not a Wednesday. I may even be able to find someone besides my parents to get me back down there, seeing as that's Labor Day weekend. Here's hoping.

    1. Defection letter is in the mail.

    2, 3. Surgery. )

    4. Cut for TMI. )

    5. Finished another part of SP yesterday (and I really do need a SP tag, I think; I'll have to make one eventually), and started part 1. That's three down, two halves to go. I'm concerned I'll have too much for section 2 and not enough for section 1, but we'll see. At least, if all else fails, there's one last Amnesty Wednesday next week.

    6. Got billed by OU today for summer. That class I thought I was getting paid for? Apparently since I got course credit, I have to pay tuition. Since, naturally, that's $1600 I can't exactly afford at the moment, I was on the phone with the Bursar's office, and the registrar, and Continuing Ed, and at least three other people, before finally ending up... at the voicemail of the woman I've been corresponding with by email about this class to begin with. D: Yeah. So I just hung up and sent her an email; we'll see where that goes. Wish me luck on playing dumb and begging out of that. ETA )

    7. TV. )

ETA: 8. Finished God Delusion. It was really good. You should read it. See a couple posts back for the download link.

    0. I got a 36/50 (72%) on the Theory final. That explains my B, I suppose.

    1. I'm still friends with E (the subject of the previous entry). If you're interested in seeing the tl;dr Facebook messages that argument has thus far culminated in, I'm happy to c&p them into a flocked post. I think I did pretty well expressing myself. And it only took me an hour and a half! *g*

    2. Good news about Self-Portrait (and surprise fanfic!). )

OK, so I've literally been online all day today (up at 8:15 this morning, online by 9, it's now 7:30pm -- make that 8:30). Now that we've covered how much I Fail At Life, time for some tab closing, because I need to do something productive, and when things get this bad, that counts. Don't judge. *g*

    Tab closing, aka random linkage:
    Cut for length. )

In other news, have a cool article on Julia Serano and Ben Barres and a lolarious post from lower_tadfield. A+.

Speaking of grades: I ended up with an A (Tech Writing), three B's (Theory of Computation, Principles of Programming, and Numerical Methods), and a C (HCI) for this semester. Deserved an A in Theory, had been hoping for a B in HCI, but not failing Principles makes up for that. Basically. All in all, I'm okay with that. (Mostly. I emailed my Theory prof. We'll see.)

Oh, and lastly, I have been continuing to fail at WdM. Sigh. That's the only reason I'm writing this post -- because I opened my fic notebook, took one look at SP, and literally sighed out loud, slumped over, and had to use this to procrastinate. *sad panda* But as far as [livejournal.com profile] lgbtfest goes, at least I have my Seeker fill to look forward to on the 28th! :D

Pseudo-ETA: Oh, and my class has been going alright. Light-speed, though, geez! Unrelatedly, have some epic win: 65 Million Years With a Creationist.

    ETA:
    1. Supernatural season 6 spoilers. Huh. I can has s6 nao plz? (And regardless if that's Sam or not, I'm not backing down -- that was, at the very least, not 100% Sam this time. Lucifer and all that blood can't have been good for him, you ask me.)

    2. Cute dog rides turtle. :DDDD

    3. For 99 years, OED got it wrong. Ha! At least Wikipedia doesn't take a century to figure out when it's screwed up! ;)

One final down (HCI; and let's just not talk about it), three more to go.

In other news, I dug back into the [livejournal.com profile] ftm archives again and rediscovered this post wherein people were sharing price quotes (and mine, as I'd thought, was on the high end -- second-highest) and the fact that Medalie's cheaper depending on which surgery center you go to (there's three). And so I emailed Valerie again to try and get it scheduled someplace else cheaper. I'd thought I'd have to switch days to manage that -- which I was totally up for, if it'd save me several hundred dollars -- but she emailed me back today and that wasn't necessary. :D

So, July 2nd it is, and now $5715. *thumbs up* Can't wait!

OF GOOD NEWS OF GREAT JOY. )

The email I got saying I wasn't selected started "Dear Applicant", so it must have been the mistake. I hope. Because, you guys! I got in! :DDDDD

Of course, I just yesterday expressed interest in a paid summer research opportunity (biology-related, but involving context-free grammars like in Theory of Comp.). So I suppose it'd be better to do this, since idk how long the research thing would last (i.e., into July, I'd think, so I wouldn't be able to be there), but gahhh idk. :-/

However, shall think about that later! I got in! :DDDD

Really should be sleeping, so I'll make this quick. Numbered list tiems, as I think of things.

    1. Taylor, I will get those NCT notes to you. Honest I will. Maybe this weekend. Bother me about it if I don't, seriously. I want to get this done as much as you want me to. (Although SP might have to take precedence initially, because of the fest -- do you watch WC?).

    2-4. RL )

    5. Check out the fics at http://community.livejournal.com/intoabar/. They are fantastic. Particularly the WC/Firefly one and the WC/Dresden Files one. Go. Read. Enjoy.

    6. I love everything Jonathon Coulton has ever written. At the moment, I'm particularly enjoying "Creepy Doll". A+.

Huge spoilers for Medium, 6x16 'How to Beat a Bad Guy' and 6x17 'Allison Rolen Got Married'. )

WC sf ('Out of the Box') spoilers. )

Spoilers for Castle 2x16, 'The Mistress Always Spanks Twice'. )

Anyway, before Castle were the BN finale (hooray for Garret Dillahunt continuing his streak of making an awesome villain in everything I watch), and WC's "Front Man", which: we can has some hurt/comfort already, you guys? Please? Hello, there was 1x13 'Front Man' spoilers ). A+.

Oh, and there was Human Target on Wednesday, too, that I watched, that was as crazy-actiony-awesome as usual (and hey, there should be a BN crossover with that, that would work well. someone get on that!).

And that's it for the relatively recent TV. The Psych finale is conspicuously absent, I know; I'll be watching that rerun tomorrow.

In other news, college and RL stuff. ).

    Roy Zimmerman )

Last but not least, I saw this hilarious WC vid to "Skullcrusher Mountain", and in so doing was introduced to Jonathan Coulton. Check him out, he's hilarious, and the songs on that page are free to stream in full. My faves are "Re: Your Brains", "Skullcrusher Mountain", "Code Monkey", and most of the others that I've listened to, but to list them all would rather defeat the purpose of favorites. ;) Enjoy.

Fandom/TV post ought to be coming on Sunday after LotS (which, can't wait!!). And will no doubt be huge, so brace yourselves. ;)

Anyway, I'll probably forget some things, since I forgot to bring my notecard with my notes on it down to the computer lab, but here's the good parts of real life lately.

Just finished watching yesterday's HT ("Sanctuary"). Wow. Wow wow. How was THAT for a mytharc ep? Geez. My opinon of this show has just skyrocketed. Awesome. Also? I think zip-lining down a cable car is in the top-ten list of coolest things I've ever seen. :D (And for the lulz, the COMICS. I about died. Freaking hilarious.)

Speaking of hilarious: yesterday's WC ("Vital Signs"). Cut for incoherent spoilers. ) THIS EP WINS FOREVER. Mhmm.

Oh, and Leverage was awesome, too. (Had a heck of a time believing that was Luke Perry, but -- yay, Luke Perry! It's been too long since Jeremiah!) The end in particular. <3

ETA: And how could I have forgotten about last weekend's Seeker, "Perdition"? To put it succinctly: My reaction. )

Finally, I am super-excited about tonight's SN, "Song Remains the Same". This Anna stuff is... disquieting..., but the rest of it? *glee* "This is a pivotal Supernatural episode for one big reason that will become obvious as soon as you see it, and in many ways, the final scenes play out a bit like the end of 'Changing Channels'." Yes plz do want. XD

    ETA #2: SN spoilers. )

    And, off topic, some links:
How freaking cool is this? http://casip.ou.edu/summer_session_galapagos.html Crying shame I have no time or money. And if you haven't already seen it, this, too; how cool is this? U.S. Tax Court Rules in Favor of SRS Deduction. Not that I make enough to pay taxes, but still. :)

My laptop's on the fritz again, so the fandom post I mentioned will be coming when my computer starts working again and I can get to the tabs I left open on Firefox.

In other news, that easy, take-home final? NOT EASY. D:

I had figured I had plenty of time, so I was only working on it off-and-on, and then I got distracted by the Internet last night (Archive Binge upon discovering thingpart), and so I didn't get anywhere close to finishing the test by midnight. The test which just so happens to be worth half-ish of our grade in that class. Sigh. And then It Got Worse.

Slightly long-winded horror story. )Thankfully, he accepted it, but still. I really hope finals week doesn't get any worse. That was supposed to be the easy final!

I have a list of things I wanted to say that I left at home (I'm in the computer lab at the moment, semi-working on my take-home Stats final while waiting until my Data Structures review session at 5:00), so I'll save the fandom stuff for another post (expect LotS, Dexter, and BH).

    Long college ramblings. )

In other news, I finally solved the weird work mystery involving my coworker K. I have two cards that I use regularly on campus; one is my ID card, with the right name on it, and the other is the Loyalty Card (X amount of extra points for living on campus again), that they printed before I got my name changed, so it still has my old name on it. And K runs the cash register a lot at work. So that explains everything. (And thank god she doesn't appear inclined to question me about it directly -- that'd be way too awkward a conversation to have in a crowded line if I even wanted to.)

In other, unrelated news, my secret got posted over at fandomsecrets, and while that is, apparently, just me, I got the only commenter someone to watch the show, so success! (And I'm consoling myself with the fact that it's just because no one watches the show that no one agrees with me and trying not to remember that I got way more comments for that Island secret way back when, and no one'd read that, either.

Finally, I randomly discovered this song (see "Music"; 5:57, SFW) on YT and can't stop listening to it. <3

And clearly it takes being overwhelmed with school work to get me to be productive, because I've totally been cleaning and doing laundry and whatnot. And last night instead of more paper I wrote an epic emo poem. And then this last night/this morning -- well, I knew those trans bunnies come in twos, but I was still hoping to not have to fend off FTM!Neal Caffrey quite so soon. On the contrary, I don't think I've had a muse this insistent since Chloe Logan. I haven't written anything yet -- that poem was time-wasting enough as it is -- but hopefully I won't forget it all before Saturday comes and I have a spare second to write it down. Wish me luck with that. (Also, if anyone happens to know or have a good guess as to how old Neal and/or Elizabeth are, I'd appreciate that info thrown my way. I am so bad with ages, you have no idea, lol. And um, apparently no matter what version of Neal I'm writing, Neal and Elizabeth are BFFs. Lol, I don't know either. I just write what they tell me. I blame that fic where they were brother and sister ("brother dearest", and all its prequels and sequels.))

Finally, my birthday (22! yay?) was not as bad as it started out. Yay for that. Thanks for the wall posts/cards/cake/good thoughts, guys.
